HOW TO SAVE MONEY....

Before I start off.. let me 1st begin with my
favourite cookie tin...

You must be thinking what has this stoopid tin got to do with money!

Be patient lah.....

Its a special cookie tin... not because
its from Crabtree & Evelyn
not because it Double Chocolate Chips okay

Because it contains THIS

Yes.. hahaha Its Char's version of a piggy bank!
I dont actually spend money buying a 'Piggy Bank'
so that is already a saving of about $10 ?

And after two months or so,
Emma and I will save about this much about $232

Wooo.. I just loved the sight of this..
who don't?

Now many of you actually underestimate the power of coins
or loose change, whatever you called that

Most people know dont have the habit of keeping a piggy bank
whatever coins you have in the wallet
just want to dispose the coins asap cuz its heavy carrying all that weight around.
Well, that is normal.

But think again... what do you have to lose just by throwing all
your coins.. yes all of it including 5cents
into a container at the end of each day??

Nothing right??!
This will be additional saving on top of your fixed monthly saving
if any.

Well, say for every 2 month we save about $232 worth of coins.
In a year
It will be $1392.00
Thats a average for a couple, so if you are single
divide by half you'll get $696

What can you do with $1392? Plenty..
Enough to travel to Hong Kong for a 4D3N vacation
flying by Cathay and a 4-star hotel for two person
Or simply a LV bag by year end.

In Ten years, you will save about $13,920
Whoah doesnt that just like a insurance payout?

Then your next question will be
"How can I convert all the coins to cash?"
Its so troublesome queuing at the bank

Answer: Do not go to the bank

Why not?
Simply because Bank charges you admin fee for deposit of coins
Fees is charged $0.0075 per piece(irregardless of value)
*Im referring to the 24hr POSB coin deposit machine*

Therefore say in my scenario now
$232 is equivalent to 471 pieces
Fee will be $3.53 ($21.18 per yr)
you dont get this much from the saving interest by the bank!

You can do the same free of charge by
changing it with some coffeeshop, food stalls or eatery
or best like what i did last time
I pass all my coins to my mom, she will exchange it with dollar notes
and use it for grocery.
or I change it with myself.. LOL.. silly
I change it with dollar notes, when i wan to buy magazine or such

But most of this eatery do not accept 1 or 5 cents so
what you can do it, put in back into your wallet and
dispose in your next trip at the super market

Unless you really have no choice but to go to the bank
please only deposit the $1 coin
using back the same senario where i have 167 pieces of $1 coin
the admin fee will just be $1.25 out of $167

In this way, you will not lose out so much on the fees right?
